Thank You First Responder Appoints Deputy Fire Chief (Ret.) Michael Allora to Board of Directors
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. — APRIL 2, 2019 — Thank You First Responder, Inc. (TYFRO), a 501(c)3 South Florida based non-profit, has announced the appointment of Michael Allora to its Board of Directors.
“Michael Allora’s experience as both a First Responder and as a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) with the National Council for Behavioral Health brings real-life credibility to our non-profit organization,” stated Stanton Smith, TYFRO Co-Founder and Board Member.
“I am honored to be a part of an organization whose focus is to celebrate and support first responders. Our Mental Health First Aid Campaign is an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of all first responders. They are always there for us. This MHFA campaign is our opportunity to show them that we are there for them too,” stated Michael Allora.
Allora is a retired Deputy Fire Chief and veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves. He has a Master of Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program and the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ Fire Service Executive Development Institute. He holds a Chief Fire Officer designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He attained the designation as a Naval Special Warfare Combatant Craft crewman (SWCC) while assigned to Special Boat Unit 20 in Little Creek, VA.
He is credited with spearheading the development of the MHFA Fire/EMS module, and is also certified to instruct the Adult, Youth, Public Safety, Military/Veterans, and Higher Education specialty modules.
